10-Minute Bible Meditation
When most people think of Bible meditation, they think of spending hours poring over every word and cross-reference. This type of in-depth study is good, but sometimes we need a more manageable way to meditate on scripture.
That’s where 10-minute bible meditation comes in! With just ten minutes, you can delve into a scripture passage and let God speak to your heart.
How to Conduct a 10-Minute Bible Meditation
Here’s how we recommend doing a 10-minute bible meditation:
- Open with a short prayer. This will help you to focus your thoughts on God and the task at hand.
- Read one or two verses. Begin by reading one or two scripture verses slowly, either aloud or in your mind. Pay close attention to the words and their meanings as you read.
- Ask what is going on in these verses. If a particular word or phrase stands out to you, meditate on that word or phrase. What does it mean? What does it represent for you? Repeat the word or phrase several times.
- Look for any clues from the previous verses. As you meditate on the passage, look for any clues from the earlier verses that can help you better understand the meaning of the text.
- Focus on something you’ve learned. Take some time to reflect on what you have learned. You may want to record this by journaling your thoughts or prayers after your meditation is finished.
- Conclude with a short prayer and ask God for help applying it. Starting and ending with prayer keeps your short meditations focused and impactful. This also helps you start putting what you’ve learned into practice.
Bible meditation is a great way to connect with God and learn more about His Word. It’s also a way to find peace and refocus on your faith. If you’re looking for a calming and introspective way to start your day or wind down at night, a 10-minute Bible meditation may be the perfect solution for you.
