3 Things Christians Should Stop Doing

3 Things Christians Should Stop Doing

May 6, 2022

As Christians, we are commanded to live a life of love and service. However, we do some things that are not in line with this calling. Here are three things Christians should stop doing to better follow Christ’s example.

1. Gossiping

Gossiping about others is hurtful and often leads to conflict. What’s more, it can be difficult to avoid participating in gossip once it gets started. For these reasons, Christians need to be mindful of how they speak about others. For example, if you wouldn’t say something to the person’s face, it’s probably best not to say it.

2. Worrying Excessively

Worrying too much is one of the things Christians should stop doing. While it is normal to feel anxious about certain things in life, worrying too much can prevent us from enjoying the present moment and trusting in God’s plan for our lives. When we focus on our worries, we often magnify them out of proportion, leading to feelings of panic and despair. Instead of worrying, we should pray for guidance and wisdom and trust that God will work all things out for our good. Joining a Bible study group or Christian Meditation group such as Stoic Matchmaker can be most helpful.

3. Holding Grudges

Holding a grudge against someone is harmful to our emotional well-being and goes against the teachings of Christ. Forgiveness is an essential part of the Christian faith, and it’s something we should all strive to practice in our daily lives. If you’re holding a grudge against someone, take some time to pray for them. You may find that it’s easier to forgive them than you thought.

By following these three things Christians should stop doing, we can better live out our faith and be an example to others. What other things do you think Christians should stop doing? Thanks for reading!
