As humans, we will always fall short of perfection. But we can rest assured that despite our mistakes, failures, and flaws, we have been promised salvation through Jesus, and God always keeps His promises.
Maybe you find yourself doubting this. You certainly wouldn’t be alone; many Christians question their salvation at one point in time or another. But don’t be fooled, for these doubts couldn’t be further from the truth.
The Bible tells us that we can be confident in our salvation. Here are a few examples.
Jesus tells us plainly that we have eternal life in Him, and no one can change that. If you are following Jesus and know His voice, you are saved. Absolutely nothing can take away the salvation He bought for you on the cross. All Christians must understand this point.
This verse assures us that we are not bound by who we used to be or what we did in the past. Because we are made new in Christ, because our hearts, minds, and spirits are transformed by Him, we will not be condemned.
The Bible tells us that God forgets the sins of His people (Jeremiah 31:34) and removes our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).
This promise was made to God’s people in Deuteronomy 31:6. It applies to Israel in the Old Testament, to Jesus’ followers in the New Testament, and to all of us Christians today. No matter what we do, we are God’s children, and He loves us. When we confess, He forgives us. He will help us to turn from our sins if we ask him. No sin could cause Him to abandon us. God is faithful to His people, so you can be confident He will be faithful to you.
