The Bible says we shouldn’t just be hearers of the word but to be doers (James 21:15). That’s why as Christians, we must learn how to apply the Bible in our daily lives. With that in mind, here are two crucial tips that will help you apply Biblical instruction.
Getting to know the Bible is the first step in applying its message to your life. You can do this by listening, reading, memorizing passages, attending Bible study groups, and attending Christian Meditation sessions – just as a few examples. The more you read and meditate on His Word, the more you will know about God’s Word and how you can apply it to your life.
It is vital that you apply biblical principles to your life issues. This can be done in one of two ways — you can either start by making notes in your regular Bible study on how the passages apply to you, or you can start with the issue you’re facing and specifically search for passages that apply. Using a mixture of these two methods is typically preferred, since you can learn to apply certain passages during times of struggle and outside of them.
For example, if you are facing an overwhelming problem in your life, you could turn to a verse like Hebrews 10:23: “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.” This will encourage you to hold onto hope during difficult times, knowing that God is faithful.
By following the tips above, you can better apply the Bible to your life and live a more fulfilling one. When you begin applying the Bible in your life, you’ll start to see how it applies to aspects of your life that you never expected.
