What setting choice do you pick for a first date

It’s your first date! The excitement is in the air. You’re about to make lasting memories. And he asked You to pick the place! But where do go on your first outing? You want it to be memorable – stand out – something neither of you will ever forget.

Your training with the Stoicess taught you to follow the advice of the old folks in making your selection. Their advice? Pick the last date and make that your first date. Why such advice? Some say if you have a first date, you need to see if you can have a second date. Such thinking may work if you’re dating for entertainment. But if you’re serious about finding a life-long partner, you make it the last date you’re looking forward to.

So, what’s the place for that last date? It’s a place where things are not too hectic and you can walk, talk, and get to know one another. Being around trees, flowers, animals and other aspects of God’s creation is your choice. The park, zoo, aquarium, or botanical gardens come to mind. God’s creation is so romantic, and it’s a peaceful environment that allows the two of you to be yourself and enjoy each other’s company with no pressure.

By following the old folks’ advice, you’ve taken the stress out of coming up with something too complicated or different and, instead, focus on that last date with your beloved to occur many, many years from now.

Now using My S-T-O-I-C STORYTELLING Meditation method:

(S) What setting choice do I pick for a first date?
(T) “Our thoughts are devoted only to what we are about to do. And yet our plans for the future always depend on the past.” Seneca
“The earth is the Lord’s and all of its fullness.” Book of Psalms
(O) I decided to choose a place where nature abounds.
(I) I realized that this is a peaceful setting, and we can walk and talk in God’s nature and community.
(C) The character trait I improved was being selective in getting to know someone on a much deeper level.

The Stoicess’ Secret:

When choosing a first date outing, pick your last date first.
