You’ve been working at the job for over a year,
and believe it’s time you should move up in your career.
You’re watching the company’s postings, but nothing seems thrilling,
plus the minimal increase in salary is less than fulfilling.
You then see an announcement for a local job fair,
decide to attend to find a job that’s not a nightmare.
While at the job fair, lo and behold you received an immediate offer;
doubled your pay after they accepted your counteroffer.
You signed the contract feeling exceedingly happy about your progress,
but your fiancé and best friend they were less enthusiastic when hearing of your success.
They’ve always acted like you were second fiddle to them,
you hoped to receive the respect you finally deserved, but instead they did nothing but condemn.
Your best friend made it clear that if you continued with the new job, that your friendship would be on the ropes,
You begin to fear that you might lose both your fiancé and best friend if you didn’t dash your hopes.
Your mother then reminded you of the book of Isaiah giving God’s command,
“So do not fear, for I am with you… I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
So, you continued with the new job not letting fear take hold,
knowing it’s not you any longer, who feels stuck and unable to act bold.
