Peer Pressure: Stoicess’ Poem.

The bosses are pushing for increased productivity,
your coworkers are implementing shortcuts in receptivity.

You’re uncomfortable with bypassing procedures that are company-required,
but if you don’t follow the lemmings, you won’t meet production and will be ultimately fired.

However, if a bad mishap occurs by your hands,
you’ll be the scapegoat and management won’t care that you were following other’s plans.

Peer pressure is that influence others have on our behavior,
it requires us to conform sometimes leading to our misbehavior.

We must conform to be accepted and stay in the group,
we conform to be noticed and subsequently accepted in their troop.

If you think hard, peer pressure has been acting on you since an early age. Girls cutting their hair short to be liked by others once seemed to be all the rage.

And boys sagging by the way they wear their jeans,
another example of “fitting in” when in their teens.

However, you choose a different path as a servant of our Lord,
doing what’s right so in the end you’ll receive your just reward.

And those who pressure you to violate your standard,
lose your admiration as you consider their path to be substandard.

and I believe in You
