Everyone knows at least one person who is seemingly unshakeable. They are the ones who always have a smile on their face, no matter what life throws their way. You may even find yourself pondering how they do it. The answer is simple; they have a “sold out” heart for God.
These individuals found a way to connect with the Lord in a way that allows them to weather any storm. They don’t do it by denying what they feel but by embracing it. Through their connection with God, they have learned to find peace in Him even in the midst of chaos.
You may think this is impossible to achieve, but with a little bit of time, anyone can have a heart for God.
The first step you need to take is to realize that your life isn’t yours. God created you, and you are His child. It means He has an ultimate say on how your story is told since He alone is sovereign. Accepting this fact means that you can trust His plan for your life and know that things will work out for His good, no matter what happens.
The next step is to accept the things you cannot change in your life. This includes other people’s actions, which are completely out of your control. You have to realize that these people are a part of God’s plan for your life, whether you like it or not.
The final step is to develop an attitude of gratitude. No matter what happens in your life, be thankful for it. It may be difficult at times — look at the book of Job! — but if you make a conscious effort to be grateful, you will find that your heart begins to change. A great way to thank God is seeking Him daily in your Meditation sessions. Visit Atlanta Meditation for an excellent meditation program.
Developing a heart for God is not easy, but with time and practice, you can do it. It’s very important to remember that this journey is about Him, not you. Take your time and enjoy the ride.
