Stoicess’ Poem: Am I Good Enough For Them?

It was the end of a long drawn-out war game,
and afterward, you found yourself going down that mental rabbit hole of placing blame.

“Why did this happen?”, You ask yourself
They said, “You will find someone better,” as they put you on their bookshelf.

But, did they really mean those words exactly?
or were they merely making a general statement that I should take abstractly?

So, the question arises, if someone breaks up with you,
does it mean I’m not good enough for them or are they not good enough for you?

And then there’s the either/or question of “who is to blame” you pose to yourself,
it’s based on a logical fallacy of oversimplification as you tend to lower yourself.

However, because nature sometimes hands us things in shades of gray,
there is no clear answer to this dilemma entertained by your mind as you attempt to downplay.

And as Apostle Paul tells us, we have no excuse to pass judgment on someone else,
for at whatever point you judge another, you have now condemned yourself.

So, after a bit of deep introspection, you decide not to allow yourself to be distracted by thoughts of assigning blame.
Instead, you focus on moving forward in a positive way to make yourself better for the next big game.

For you learned something from this prior relationship that helped you to mature,
made yourself more desirable for the next man you’ll allure.

And now when someone tells you, “You will find someone better than me”,
You smile and tell myself, “Someday, someone else, will find the better me!”
