The Stoicess’ Poem: Am I Good Enough for the New Job.

A new job was posted today.
My heart initially skipped as I tried holding it at bay.

Then my insecurity began to rise; that internal degradation began flowing.
Maybe I’m not good enough, or I’ll be entering a job whose tasks will be unknowing.

But others will apply without a care about the work,
because they’re comfortable in their skin, thinking they’ll perform without a quirk.

However, the difference between them and me is our approach to life,
one sees it as an opportunity, the other as an education in strife.

I then remembered Paul’s words that God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power, love, and sound mind – an encouragement that we should not veer.

So, I now face my own insecurity,
and with a steadfast mind, apply for the job with intellectual maturity.

For the obstacles, I once viewed as hindrances to my job application,
I now take them in stride as I see myself performing at that new station.
