There was a role God assigned me to play,
a role like no other – one that I had to heavily weigh.
Fear initially came over me because I was doing something new,
anxiety, performance issues, and letting someone down, were things that I knew.
There’s always fear in trying the unknown,
listening to others’ thoughts on the topic usually seem overblown.
Courage says there is fear, but I’ll perform in spite of it,
bravery says there is no fear – I’ll move forward, but it may take a bit.
This tremendous confidence dictates the great quality and outcome of one’s work,
there’s nothing like bravery when performing your greatest life’s work.
Because it’s among the greatest leadership roles God has assigned you ever,
every move you make, every step you take, God is closely watching your endeavor.
What is such a role that would be assigned solely to one?
It’s from the Bible in Genesis, my role to bear a child, a role I will not leave undone.
A helpless being, my audience, I will bring forth and create,
to care for them until they are grounded and can carry their on weight.
So, as the child’s parent, it was bravery over courage that I chose,
for with bravery, there’s no teetering, it shall be done despite any woes.
For God lent a part of His creation to my womb,
a role I heartily accept to show my gratitude, and my love for Him in full bloom.
