How to Catch That First Date

You’re at a gathering minding your business and someone makes a pass at you. Or it’s the grocery line and the person behind starts flirting with you by noticing you’re not wearing “ownership jewelry”. Real Creepers I’d say.

For you, before approaching another, you first decide what person you will be searching for. Your training with the Stoicess taught you to “Match the Hatch” – nature’s method on how to attract another. The idea is to know what you are looking for and attract it so you can make the catch. And you’re not window shopping to see what entertainment you may haphazardly find. You’re organized – considering bait, location, and weather.

Bait that is too large will scare most fish. Your bait is philosophy—it’s quite large and chases many away, but for those few who remain, you’ll have the very best catch.

Location comes into play when deciding where your best catch hang out. You search for the right fishing hole.

Weather change is the person’s mood at a particular moment— You know it’s not always a good time to approach someone who appears upset. Philosophy works best with a relaxed mind.

And like fishing, there is no guarantee the fish will be biting. That is why they call it fishing not catching!

However, using “Match the Hatch”, you know you’ll be honing your craft while increasing the chances of hooking your best catch. You have more confidence, less anxiety, and fewer butterflies because you’re using nature’s plan in how to approach someone successfully.
